CLASS DESCRIPTIONS & FEES

Intro Dance: For children ages 3 and 4, We will explore the world of dance learning fundamental dance steps, rhythm and movement, incorporating fun music your child will enjoy dancing to. This introductory class will keep your tiny dancer engaged and excited about dancing! Light pink leotard, light pink tights & pink ballet shoes required. Instructor: Danielle Stoltz. Class time: 30 minutes. Fee $120.

Beginning Jazz /Hip-Hop: For children ages 4 and 5, your dancer will experiment with this contemporary style of dance. This class is for children who have completed one year in STAR Intro dance classes. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black jazz shoes required. Instructor: Danielle Stoltz. Class time: 30 minutes. Fee $130.

Jazz/Hip-Hop 1: For grades 1st and 2nd,your young dancer will learn the basics of the American Jazz style and hip-hop. We will focus on technique, basic terminology, memorization, and basic knowledge of contemporary dance. This is a fun class not to be missed! Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black jazz shoes required. Instructor: Danielle Stoltz. Class time: 35 minutes. Fee $180.

Jazz/Hip-Hop 2: For grades 3rd through 5th, your dancer is going to further her understanding of the American jazz style mixed with hip-hop, with a more intense focus on increasing agility, more advanced steps, memorization skill, flexibility and sampling choreography we see in the mass media. Your dancer will have fun in this class while learning current and inspiring choreography! Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black jazz shoes required. Instructor: Danielle Stoltz. Class time: 45 minutes. Fee $200.

Jazz/Hip-Hop 3: For grades 6 to 8, This class will focus on strengthening your dancer’s knowledge of terminology, flexibility, stamina, memorization, and overall performance. She will experiment with new and harder steps, sample choreography seen on TV. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black jazz shoes required. Instructor: April Christensen. Class time: 1 hour. Fee $240.

Jazz/Hip-Hop 4: For grades 9th through 12th, Your advanced dancer will work on perfecting her abilities, increase stamina, memorization and performance level. With the addition of hip-hop, we will be sampling professional choreography similar to the styles you are seeing today. This class will push your dancer to not only improve, but to also have fun while dancing. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black jazz shoes required. Instructor: April Christensen. Class time: 1.25 hours. Fee $290.

Lyrical 4: For grades 8th through 12th and at least 5 years of training, your advanced dancer will explore the artistic and expressive side of dance through this technical Lyrical class. We will focus on performance, technique, musicality and use of emotion, incorporating floor work and longer and more complicated dance combinations. This class is suggested for all high school aged ballet and jazz/hip-hop students. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & flesh tone lyrical shoes required. Instructor: April Christensen. Beginning Tap: For 4 & 5 year olds, we will explore the world of tap dancing! Your dancer will learn the basics of beginning tap movement, terminology and rhythm. This class is for children who have completed one year in STAR Intro dance classes. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black tap shoes required. Instructor: Andrew Kruep. Class time: 30 minutes. Fee $130.

Tap 1: For grades 1st & 2nd, we will focus on covering more basics of tap dance. Students will work on improving their technique, rhythm, musicality and performance using popular and classic tap music! Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black tap shoes required. Andrew Kruep. Class time: 30 minutes. Fee $180.

Tap 2: For grades 3rd through 5th, this is a continuation from Tap 1, adding more advanced steps. Students will work on improving their technique, rhythm, musicality and performance using popular and classic tap music! Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black tap shoes required. Andrew Kruep. Class time: 40 minutes. Fee $200.

Tap 3 & 4: For grades 6th through 12th, your tapper will continue her knowledge of tap, improving her technique and adding technically harder dance combinations. Students will also work on improving rhythm, musicality and performance with popular and classic tap music. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard & black tap shoes required. Instructor: April Christensen. Class time: 45 min. Fee $290.

Beginning Ballet: For children ages 4 and 5, your dancer will experiment with the traditional English method of classical ballet. This class is for children who have completed one year in STAR Intro dance classes. Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Instructor: Heather Doré Johnson. Class time: 30 minutes. Fee $130.

Ballet 1: For grades 1st and 2nd, we will focus on covering more basics of classical ballet. Students will work on improving their technique, rhythm, musicality and performance! Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Instructor: Heather Doré Johnson. Class time: 40 minutes. Fee $180.

Ballet 2: For grades 3 to 5, Your dancer will further explore the art of classical ballet using the English method. We will continue work on basic ballet terminology, memorization, technique, performance, flexibility and endurance. Your ballerina will learn how to dance safely, gracefully, and with enthusiasm. Black leotard, black ballet skirt, light pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Instructor: Heather Doré Johnson. Class time: 45 minutes. Fee $200.

Ballet 3: For grades 6th through 8th, your dancer will further her knowledge of classical ballet, working on improving technique, musicality, flexibility and artistry. This class is for the more disciplined dancer. Black leotard, black ballet skirt, light pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Instructor: Heather Doré Johnson. Class time: 1 hour. Fee $240.

Ballet 4: For grades 9th through 12th, this advanced is for the serious ballet student with at least 5 years of ballet training. This class will focus on classical and contemporary ballet while working on technique, stamina, flexibility, musicality & performance. Black leotard, black ballet skirt, light pink tights and pink ballet shoes required. Instructor: Heather Doré Johnson. Class time: 1.25 hours. Fee $290.

Pointe: For girls enrolled in Ballet 4 and by permission by Heather Doré Johnson, this intensive class will help your dancer understand the disciplines of pointe and learn the skills required for safe dancing in pointe shoes. Instructor: Heather Doré Johnson. Class time: 30 minutes. Fee $100.

Musical Theatre 4: For grades 9 to 12, Your advanced performer will take his or her skills to the maximum in our Musical Theatre 4 class. This class is intended for students with an interest in pursuing musical theatre on a professional level. We will combine dance and acting from popular musicals and also work on improving technique, musicality, performance, stamina, partnering, high level combinations and improving overall stage presence. Black jazz pants, solid color top or leotard, black jazz shoes & tan character shoes (character shoes required for the girls) required. Instructor: Andrew Kruep. Class time: 1.25 hours. Fee $290.

Tumbling 1 & 2: For grades 1st through 4th, we will explore the world of beginning tumbling & gymnastics. Your tumbler will learn the basics like forward rolls, cartwheels, backward rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, work on stamina, strength, flexibility and agility. Solid color t-shirt & shorts required or gymnastics leotard. NO SKIRTS. Instructors: April Christensen & Kayla Miller. Class time: 1 hour. Fee $240.
